We don’t like to brag, but we’re changing the game on how to create spaces for LGBTQIA+ families
By building a space where the experiences of people of color and young adults in LGBTQIA+ families are at the forefront, alongside queer and trans adults of color creating families – we are setting a new precedent for supporting every member within a LGBTQIA+ family. All too often we see family groups created by white parents and the kids are toddlers. We’re here to change that model and put people of color in queer families at the forefront in a multigenerational space.

MADE BY US AND FOR US
This community was created by people in LGBTQIA+ families, for people in LGBTQIA+ families and our larger constellation of family and support. We aim to provide a hub for all LGBTQIA+ family members and community.
SECURITY AND PRIVACY ABOVE ALL ELSE
We believe every member of a LGBTQIA+ family deserves support, even if they are closeted. By moving to our own private virtual space, members can interact anonymously at any point and their identity will be kept safe and secure.
WE GROW AS OUR COMMUNITY GROWS
Our founders are queer, culturally queer, people of color, intergenerational, bi-lingual and from multi-racial families. We are growing as a collective and we aim to create and update our app as our community needs expand.
Our Foundation
As people with LGBTQIA+ parents, we fully understand what it feels like to not have community, need it, and find it. As founders, we all met supporting youth in LGBTQIA+ families as volunteers with national organizations and then worked in the community for 10+ years. Throughout all of our years supporting our families, we recognized the need for continued support for unique families like ours – parents who came out later in life, bisexual families, genderqueer people with a queer parent, and a unified space for parents and adult children in LGBTQIA+ families to connect. Now we are using our resources to branch out and continue to support our community. With an incredible team of other people in queer families, we created OurFamilyApp.org and we’re dedicated to growing and adapting our virtual space as our community develops.
